Project Overview

Bronco Wine Co., a family-owned business based in California’s Central Valley, stands as the fourth largest wine producer in the United States. Renowned for their high-quality wines, Bronco Wine Co. operates extensive vineyards and a large-scale production facility, which relies on a variety of utility systems including refrigeration, air compressors, boilers, HVAC, lighting, and vacuum pumps. The complexity and scale of these operations lead to significant energy consumption and high operational costs.

To address these challenges, DCE conducted a comprehensive energy assessment for Bronco Wine Co. This assessment uncovered multiple opportunities for energy cost savings. Additionally, DCE identified potential funding through the Food Production Investment Program (FPIP) and provided guidance on measurement and verification (M&V) requirements for the recommended improvements. As a result of DCE’s assessment, Bronco Wine Co. gained valuable insights into project costs, projected cost savings, carbon reduction, and expected payback periods, empowering them to make informed decisions for optimizing energy efficiency.
